My guess would be that the owners of F+F have an alliance of some sort with some big candy distributor and get the stuff pretty cheap. I think they just sell whatever they can get enough cheap quantities. Some of it isn't any better than Harbor Freight, some is. One thing I found interesting was a week or so ago I bought an 8' Werner fiberglass stepladder from Farm + Fleet and upon driving out to the yard to pick it up I noticed a paper taped to it that said "Rural King" on it. Granted Farm + Fleet has gone down hill in recent years but I still prefer them over TSC or Rural King. It seemed like a poor man's Farm + Fleet to me. I have only been in it once and I guess I wasn't terribly impressed. I would classify Rural King as a step or two higher than Harbor Freight.
